UCT SRC Vice President Expelled at Kangaroo Court SRC Inquisition
Update (3 August 2015): In a letter to Zizipho Pae that she received on 3 August, the UCT Vice-Chancellor has advised that the decision to expel her from the SRC, has been found INVALID and that she must be RE-INSTATED. This is a great victory for religious freedom and free speech in SA!
The Student Representative Council (SRC) meeting on Tuesday night at UCT (21 July 2015) to discuss Zizipho Pae’s suspension from the SRC, was nothing short of a kangaroo court.
Christians at the meeting reported that the SRC members seemed biased against the Christian viewpoint from the start. They report that the Christian viewpoint was interrupted and shouted down by a mob of intolerant homosexual activists, reducing their speaking time. This mob had already met with the SRC President on Monday to demand Zizi’s removal. The LGBTI group protested that the SRC President was not fit to chair the meeting (because he was not agreeing with them), and accused him (and another white Christian who spoke in support of Zizi) of racism! Because of the intimidation and chaos, the SRC President eventually adjourned the meeting and left. The meeting continued in his absence and a motion was tabled for Zizi's expulsion. The motion was accepted with 7 votes for expulsion, 0 against and 1 abstaining. Zizi was thus 'expelled' from the SRC with immediate effect. This surely must be a violation of SRC meeting Rules of Order as the Chairman had adjourned the meeting and was not present for this ruling.
It is clear that the SRC at UCT no longer believes in the rule of law. They gave in to the mob bully tactics of the Rhodes Must Fall rioters and now they have allowed a kangaroo court to expel a democratically elected student leader by ignoring her Constitutional rights to freedom of speech, expression and religion.
Trial by Media
A Cape Times headline today read “UCT Homophobe Gets Booted Out”. The definition of a homophobe is one with an irrational fear of homosexuals. In what way was Zizi's personal Facebook post “We are institutionalising and normalising sin. May God have mercy on us” demonstrating such a phobia?
The article failed to mention the most relevant point - the SRC executive illegally voted after the meeting had already been adjourned by the Chairman (and after he had left the meeting). In no way can this inquisition and kangaroo court be considered legitimate.
Furthermore, Petersen’s article and title more resemble ‘trial by media’ propaganda than factual reporting of news.
It is the radicals who are trying to hijack the SRC that are behaving as Christophobic, intolerant, bigoted bullies.
Letters to the Editor
The SRC at UCT had no problem in allowing a series of vile, blasphemous anti-Christ cartoons in their Sax Appeal Rag magazine in 2009, under the guise of ‘free speech’ and yet have expelled their Vice President for expressing her opinion on her personal Facebook page. No action has been taken against the students who trashed Zizi’s office and posted lewd images on her Facebook page. This is double standard hypocrisy. The SRC and groups such Rainbow UCT seem to be intolerant of Christianity.
When George Orwell published the book, 1984, warning of the rise of Thought Police and the prosecution of Thought Crimes, many would have considered it widely improbable. However, we are now seeing a rise in anti-Christian discrimination, bully tactics, sneak attacks, assertions of victimhood, name-calling and expensive, time-wasting litigation mobilised against those who hold to traditional marriage. In the name of tolerance, homosexual activists are demanding approval and conformity to their radical social engineering agenda and persecution of any who dare disagree.
Petition for Freedom of Speech on Campus
The only positive step that prevailed at the meeting, was when Christian supporters of Pae handed over a petition of four thousand signatures supporting her Constitutional rights. The petition also points out that no UCT or SRC rules, or laws of South Africa, were broken by Pae’s Facebook post.
Pae’s legal counsel is now waiting on her to decide how she will respond and will assist her if she decides to take the matter to court. She will be issuing a statement in the next few days.
Freedom of Religion is Not Negotiable
Should the case go to court, it will set an important legal precedent for the religious freedom of Christians in South Africa to teach from the Bible. We urge all Christians to stand firm on their right to freedom of speech and religion and not to be intimidated into silence by the outcome of this case.
“But Peter and John answered and said to them, ‘Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.’” Acts 4:19
Please pray that God would grant Zizi and her legal counsel much wisdom in responding to the Pink Inquisition. Pray that Christians will lovingly preach the Gospel to homosexuals and take a stand against the radical homosexual agenda aiming to destroy the Biblical definition of marriage and family.
“But Peter and the other Apostles answered and said: ‘We ought to obey God rather than men.’” Acts 5:19

The Pink Agenda – Now Available as an E-book
Africa Christian Action's landmark book, The Pink Agenda – Sexual Revolution and the Ruin of the Family, published in 2001, is now also available updated as an e-book here.
The book warns about the radical Homosexual Agenda which is to not only make the deviant declared normal, but to make the normal declared deviant. The homosexualists are not satisfied with their deviancy being tolerated. They want their perversion approved of, applauded, tax subsidised and promoted in schools. Beyond approval, they aim at forcing conformity to their behaviour and prosecuting those who stand for traditional marriage.
With governments promoting homosexual pseudo-marriage right now, you need to be equipped with the facts, and an understanding of where it will all end - if we don’t stop the tidal wave! This book will equip you with ways to ensure that we do not only resist the homosexualisation for future generations, but that we turn back the tide of sexual revolution in our country.
