South Africa for Christ

By God's grace, the Director of the Christian Action Network, Dr. Peter Hammond, the International Co-ordinator of Christian Action, Taryn Hodgson and Trainee Missionaries, Abraham and Feylin, have safely returned from a 5,600km Mission throughout 6 provinces of South Africa. In the last month they have conducted 140 meetings at 11 schools, 7 churches, 5 Mission stations, 2 Bible colleges, a Ministers' Conference and a Great Commission Seminar.

Dr. Peter Hammond presented a week of lectures on Church History at Back to the Bible Training College, was a key-note speaker at the Lord Abide With Us Ministers' Conference, attended by 1,500 delegates, at KwaSizabantu Mission in KwaZulu. Peter also conducted a two-day Great Commission Seminar at the William Carey School of World Missions near Durban.

Taryn conducted 27 meetings, including 3 Sunday schools, 17 school assemblies and classes, 3 Christian Action updates at churches and Missions and a Christian Action Workshop. The school meetings included giving the Fight the New Drug presentation (the harmful effects of pornography and how you can fight back) at 4 different schools, Traffick Proof at 3 different schools and one presentation on How to Survive at University at a Christian School. At each school where Fight the New Drug or Traffick Proof was presented, we gave each child a Fight the New Drug or Stop the Traffick tract.

Peter Hammond conducted 98 meetings, including 60 lectures, 20 radio programmes, 7 sermons, 6 school assemblies and 5 Bible studies.

The team delivered and distributed over 2.5 tonnes of Bibles, New Testaments, Gospel booklets, books, newsletters, tracts, magazines and audio visual materials, DVDs, MP3s, audio CDs and Digital Libraries to pastors, teachers, missionaries, Evangelists and chaplains.

You can view photos of the schools ministry on our Africa Christian Action Facebook page.

Cape Town Schools Ministry

In February, Taryn had an opportunity to share about the availability of Christian Action presentations to 25 government school principals in Cape Town. This has resulted in new invitations to schools in the Cape Town area. Taryn will be giving the Fight the New Drug presentation this Friday (27 March) at a High School.

Boycott Fifty Shades of Grey Outreach

On Valentine's Day we conducted literature distribution and personal Evangelism in the Canal Walk shopping mall distributing Gospel leaflets on the God's Love Languages and also leaflets that we designed to expose the abuse and bondage promoted in the much-advertised 50 Shades of Grey film. Many vigorous discussions ensued and it was a most profitable time of Evangelistic discussion.

You can download the tract here to distribute at DVD hire stores, or to friends and family.

"Wisdom calls aloud outside; she raises her voice in the open squares. She cries out in chief concourses, at the opening of the gates in the city she speaks her words." Proverbs 1:20-21

"Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them." Ephesians 5:11
