The Current Political Climate of South Africa
The CURRENT POLITICAL CLIMATE in SOUTH AFRICA and WHAT WE CAN DO ABOUT IT
"Thus says the Lord: 'Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls… Also, I set watchmen over you, saying, 'Listen to the sound of the trumpet!'…" Jeremiah 6:16-17
Cancer Debilitates South Africa
It is appropriate that the middle letters of cancer are ANC. Abortion, Nepotism and Corruption have marked this revolutionary movement who inherited the richest and most productive country in Africa and have looted its treasury, debased its currency, eroded its moral foundations, paganised the population, criminalised the society, dumbed down the education, legalised pornography, abortion and perversion, brought industry to a standstill with incessant blackouts - all while trying to blame Jan van Riebeek!.
Re-Electing Failure
Yet, despite their failures on every level, the ANC have managed to convince a majority of the voters to keep voting for them, despite their failure to fulfil any of their election promises over 22 years.
Distractions
Incredibly, millions of South Africans seem to be willing to be distracted time and again by those responsible for the corruption, taxation, and inflation that have stolen from us all by rising enthusiastically to campaigns to blame Cecil John Rhodes and Jan van Riebeeck for our present predicament.
Rhodes Must Fall Destroys Property
The Ministry of Higher Education have reported that the Rhodes Must Fall student riot movement caused over R300 million damage to universities. How attacking statues of people who have been dead for over a century could possibly have improved things today, no one can explain.
Self-Destructive
Those protesting service deliveries tend to damage the very services they need. Vandalism and arson destroying university campus buildings, vehicles, busses and trains, can only aggravate the situation.
Driving Away Investors and Devaluing the Rand
Even more than that, it drives away employers and erodes investor confidence. In addition these riots and irresponsible threats of white genocide and "kill the boer! Kill the farmer!" songs, only drive down the value of the national rand currency, further impoverishing the entire population and stealing from everyone.
Demographic Dynamics
It is said that 5% of people make things happen.
15% of people watch things happen.
80% of people have no clue what happened.
Communication Imperatives
Others have also observed that:
5% of people think.
15% of people think they think.
80% of people never think.
For those who think, we need books, seminars, conferences, documentation.
For those who think they think, leaflets and video documentaries are needed.
For the 80%, we are reduced to sound-bites, slogans, T-shirts and bumper stickers.
Reaching Every Sector of Society
However, every movement needs to mobilise each section of society starting with Leadership Training, books and seminars, going on through leaflets and documentaries, but not neglecting the slogans, sound-bites and social media.
The goal is to inform, inspire and involve, to educate and enlist, to motivate and to mobilise.
Raw information, such as makes up the majority of newspapers, is cheap.
Understanding is valuable.
Participation is most precious.
We need to renew minds, transform lives, make disciples by teaching obedience to all things that the Lord has commanded.
We desperately need Reformation and Revival.
Two Extremes
Facing the threats of secular humanism, the New World Order attempts to rebuild Babylon, privileges for perverts, many respond in one of two extremes. There are those who want to deny that any problem exists and those who declare that there is no hope!
No Problem
To try to deny reality and claim that there is no problem is to fail to recognise the depravity of man. Mankind is in rebellion to almighty God. It is impossible to violate God's Laws without serious and disastrous consequences.
No Hope
On the other hand, those who claim that there is no hope are failing to take into account the sovereignty of God, the power of the Word of God and the power of prayer.
"Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?" Psalm 85:6
